AWARD OF DEGREE:

Diploma in Civil Engineering will be awarded on successful completion of 3 year program.

Vision

To develop dynamic learning environment in the field of civil engineering to congregate the professional skills and innovative needs of the society.

Mission

  • To impart quality technical education by dedicated faculty using innovative learning techniques.
  • To bridge the gap between professionals and academic institute.
  • To inculcate moral and ethical values among the students.
  •  To create awareness and thirst for lifelong learning keeping in mind sustainable issues, technological trends and entrepreneurship.
  •  To emerge as a reliable knowledge hub for the industry, academia and society.

Programme Educational Objectives

  • To provide disciplined educational environment and prepare the students to be eligible for pursuing higher studies and self-employment in the field of civil engineering.
  • To impart proficiency in engineering knowledge and skills to analyse, design, built, maintain and improve civil engineering-based systems.
  •  To create interest in the students to engage in long life learning in advanced areas of civil engineering and related fields.
  • To educate the students with ethical values to use modern engineering techniques to serve the society effectively.

Program Specific Outcomes: (PSOs)

  • Apply knowledge of civil engineering to plan, analyse, design, construct and execute all kinds of civil engineering projects.
  • Utilize modern construction techniques, equipment and management tools so as to complete the project within specified time and funds.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and values of multi-disciplinary teams in addition to civil engineering.

Labs

In this lab we are performing various practices for linear Angular & Elevation measurements. Different types of exercise are performed like chain & Tape survey, Compass survey, Plane Table survey & Levelling in Surveying Subject. While techeometry, trigonometry & setting of curves practices carried out in Advance Survey Lab.
The Hydraulics  subject is offered in 3rd semester of Civil engineering student and they have to perform the practicals in the lab to know and understand the basic properties of fluid, fluid mechanics and it's application in civil engineering. The various practicals like measurements of pressure of water by piezometer and  manometer, Determine discharge in pipe by venturimeter, hydraulic co efficient of an orifice, compute co efficient of discharge for V notch and Rectangular notch , compute head loss in pipe of various diameter and demonstration of Bernoulli's  theorem.
Concrete Technology laboratory is used to determine various properties of concrete with respect to construction and engineering applications. This laboratory is equipped with vicat apparatus, Le-chatelier, Thickness gauge, length gauge, compaction factor apparatus, slump cone, impact testing apparatus, Los angeles apparatus. This laboratory is also used for project work of final year students.
We perform various test of soil mass for getting Index properties like water content bulk density field n dry density Specific gravity. Sieve analysis & atterbergs limits.  We also perform soil test for getting geotechnical/engineering properties like shear parameter compaction characteristics  co efficient of permeability of two different test methods  ie.constant head n falling head method.it is necessary to know this properties of soil mass. As soil is very important construction material to support foundation of any structure.
Computer Lab is used to enhance the knowledge of computer system and preparation of detailed residential building drawing with various tools and commands. Apart from that, students also use this lab for their projects and seminars work.
This subject is offered in 2nd sem, civil engineering as per GTU curriculum .This is very useful for understanding civil engineering drawings. Students have made various models on different building components such as doors, windows, residential house models, stairs, etc. With the help of this subject students gain knowledge to draw plan, section and elevation of different buildings like residential ,commercial and so on.
In this laboratory  students perform the various mechanical properties   like youngs  modulus  of steel rod by performing tensile test on Universal  Testing Machine .It is also used to Testing material subjected to bending shear and compression .Toughness of different metals like copper  Aluminium  steel by izod n charpy impact test. Mass moment of inertia is measured with fly wheel. Amount of deflection of various  beam is also evaluated  by Beam deflection apparatus .
Water supply & sanitary Engineering Subject is offering to 5th semester students of civil Engineering as per GTU Curriculum. In this laboratory Different Experiments are performed on Water & waste water such as Determine pH value,  Determine Hardness of potable water, Determine Residual chlorine from given sample of water, Determine Turbidity of water sample,  Determine B.O.D. of wastewater sample, Determine C.O.D. of wastewater sample, Determine S.V.I.&S.D.I. using Imhoff cone for wastewater
